Supporting our own growing population through modern land management and agriculture is pushing UK biodiversity into the limited undisturbed undergrowth we have left. The NSEW Star Species are all under threat from extinction, but need the nation's backing to stop them dissapearing entirely - join the fight to help them recover!

Watch our five videos to find out more about our Star Species: learn why they're under-threat and what can be done to help them...

The Save our Species poll for National Science & Engineering Week had thousands of votes as we asked the nation to tell us their favourite at-threat species. The results are:

First: Dormouse
Second: Greater Horseshoe Bat
Third: Common Bluebell
Fourth: Stag Beetle
Fifth: Corncrake
