The "What on Earth" Project has now been closed, head over to iSpot to upload your photos!
For National Science & Engineering Week 2010, we asked the British public to rediscover their natural surroundings with a camera and a fresh pair of eyes. The What on Earth Gallery documents what's been found and where!
British biodiversity is currently under threat, with thousands of our plants and animals facing habitat destruction and homelessness. What on Earth was a call-to-action to identify as many plants and animals as possible in UK parks, gardens and hedgerows. We wanted to find some of the wierd and wonderful flora and fauna that inhabits our small but diverse land.
We asked the public to upload a photo of anything they didn't recognise, and we'd do our best to try and identify it! There are still plenty of unidentified finds in the gallery, so if you think you know your UK species why not sign up and see what you can spot. Registering will also allow you to download the bespoke Biodiversity Information and Activity Pack.

What on Earth was created for National Science and Engineering Week 2010 by the British Science Association in conjunction with iSpot. NSEW is funded by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills
